2000
(Jan) Pittards Shoe and Leathergoods Division and Charles Paisley & Sons of the Raw Materials Division successfully achieved certification of their environmental management systems to the ISO 14001 Standard.
(Mar) Jeffries' radical Flyover saddle, made with Pittards waterproof leather, for international event rider Ian Stark, won New Product of the Show award at the BETA International 2000 show, in Birmingham.
(April) The company launches two new technically advanced leathers: Pittards Armortan® - a new abrasion resistant leather for the outdoor and the racing markets- and Pittards Microspike - a new anti-microbial treated leather for both the performance footwear and gloving markets.
(May) Pittards introduces "ARTAN", their new vegetable tanned leather range for the leathergoods markets.
(June) Pittards takes the lead in the environmental reporting debate by being the first leather manufacturer to publish an environmental report.
(August) Ian Stark and the British Equestrian Team won silver medals at the Sydney Olympics. Ian was using the special lightweight saddle, which had been specially designed for the Olympic games.
(September) Pittards celebrates the beginning of the BT Global Challenge 2000-2001 Round the World Yacht Race, in Southampton, on board a luxury yacht, in the company of customers and suppliers, who had been invited for the day.
2001
(February) Spalding All-Weather football, made from Pittards leather, has been such a success in the US, that it has now become the official ball for the recently formed XFL Football League.
(June) Team Spirit, Pittards' sponsored boat in the Global Challenge Boat Race, sped into Southampton Waters in second place on the final leg.
(December) Terry Mitchell was inducted as the 50th member of the Pittards 25 year club in Yeovil, for his loyal service to the company.
2002
(Feb) Pittards announce new sponsorship with Jeanette Brakewell, member of the British 3 day eventing Team who won a Silver medal from the Sydney Olympics 2000.
(May) Pittards launches its new Organic Tanning System with additional technical properties.
(Sept) Three-day eventer Jeanette Brakewell won an individual silver medal at the World Championships in Spain. Jeanette was using saddles and gloves made from Pittards leathers.
(Nov) Pittards plc is chosen as the overall Exporter of the Year 2002 at the International Business Awards, organised by Trade Partners UK and Export Times.
2003
(Feb-May) Following close partnership with the TUC and KFAT Unions, Pittards opens its new state of the art learning centres in both its Glove Leather Division and its Shoe & Leathergoods Division.
(April) Pittards launches PARADOS, a unique chemical and acid resistant leather, specially developed for the military, riot police, fire fighters and high-tech industrial sectors.
(June) Pittards is named Innovator of the Year in the Royal Bank of Scotland Sunday Times Awards 2003.
(June) Pittards launches CADPAT, a new camouflage pattern leather with infrared absorption benefits, specially engineered for the Canadian DND, using Pittards latest technology Computer Image Generation (CIG).
(July) Ben Curtis, winner of the British Open 2003, wore FootJoy Dry Ice shoes and StaSof gloves made from Pittards performance leathers.
(October) Pittards wins its first order of CADPAT leather from the Canadian DND.
2004
(Mar) Jason Robinson who achieved super star status after scoring the only try in England's triumphant Rugby World Cup final against Australia, visited Leeds factory and was presented with a new pair of rugby boots.
(July) Event Rider Jeanette Brakewell, who is sponsored by Pittards, was selected to take part in the Athens Olympics in August 2004. She competed with her horse, Over to You.
(Aug) British Equestrian team, which was sponsored by Pittards leather for much of their equipment, won a silver medal at the Athens Olympics.
(Sept) FootJoy launches Pittards new adaptive grip technology in the all-new Sta-Sof glove. The Gripster product uses radical new technology to use moisture build up in the leather to make the surface stickier-counteracting the usual loss of grip which occurs when gloves get sweaty.
(Oct) Pittards participates at the Meet in Africa leather event in Addis Ababa which itself coincides with the meeting of Prime Minister Tony Blair's European Commission for Africa whose central message is to help Africa to help itself. Pittards is able to present its work in partnership with Ethiopia to politicians from the UK and Ethiopia, including Blair, and emphasize its contribution to achieving the commission's goals.
(Nov) Samples of Pittards' latest CIG derived patterning 'Desert Camo' are rushed to the gulf for troops stationed in Iraq-a successful trial later resulting in a bulk tender in a brand new category of glove.
2005
(Jan) Pittards new Yeovil-produced soccer programme on goatskin with Danish brand Hummel hits the spotlight as Hummel's Danish endorser Dennis Rommedahl and his Charlton team are drawn against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup. To neutralise any advantage boots are rushed to Yeovil for the Glovers who gave good account of themselves but could not beat strong opposition from three divisions above them. The gap is closing though as the Glovers are promoted from Division 2 of the Coca Cola Championship as champions in May.
(Mar) Pittards signs an historic Memorandum of Understanding with its long standing partner Ethiopia Tannery Share Company to form a joint venture.
(April) Pittards "Muffler" leather, a soft lightweight bovine leather from Leeds , wins the prestigious Asia Pacific Leather Fair award for innovation at the industry's major showcase fair.
(May) FootJoy announces the 25th Birthday of the Sta-Sof glove-the result of a unique business partnership and co-operation with Pittards.
(Sept) Pittards list of sporting heroes extends to include Kevin Pietersen and Andrew(Freddy)Flintoff wearing Woodworm brand cricket gloves incorporating Pittards leather during the England cricket team's successful campaign to win back the Ashes trophy from Australia.
(Oct) Latest bulk orders are recieved on Pittards latest Desrt Camouflage leather for UK forces operating in Iraq
(Dec) Consultation period is announced on the future of the comapny's Leeds site which will ultimately lead to the transfer of production to Yeovil and to a licensee in Asia.
2006
(Mar) Company signs Licensing agreement for footwear leathers with partner Teh Chang. Announces plans to relieve burden of pension fund deficit
(April) Company's Voluntary Arrangement(CVA) is approved by creditors
(May) CVA and new share allocation is approved by shareholders allowing the company to focus again on its core leather making strengths and throw off uncertainty over corporate financial future
(June) Sale of Leeds site is announced, significantly reducing borrowing and consequent interest charges.
